Summary
The 3rd
annual Murder Goes South marked the expansion of the festival
to two days. The Friday night session featured a presentation
by keynote speaker and featured author Carolyn Hart. Dinner
was catered by Café Michelle.
Nine accomplished
authors were featured on Saturday: Steve Brown, Beverly Connor,
Carolyn Haines, Carolyn Hart, Brandon Massey, Cathy Pickens,
Cheryl Ritzel, E. Joan Sims and Bill Stackhouse.
The nine
writers were grouped into three panels of three. Each panel
was allocated 45 minutes to discuss aspects of their writing
pertaining to three topics: The Butler Did it, The Suspense
is Killing Me and Southern Locales.
Additional
discussions were hosted by Frank Durrance (K-9 Police Dog
Unit), Walter Sorrells (Knives & Their Usage) and Holly
McClure (Finding a Literary Agent). Friends of Smyrna Library
Board Member and Atlanta Journal-Constitution Columnist Jim
Wooten concluded the day by moderating a discussion between
the panel and the audience.
